Short post, as I accidentally closed out the tab on my original one.

I have this gorgeous LeMond Zurich road bike that I bought off a guy on Craigslist a few months ago. The poor thing has been sitting neglected since then, as I've primarily used my aged Bianchi for biking to and from work.

Last night I had a surge of motivation and ran downstairs to replace the slick tubular tires that came with the bike with more traction-friendly ones. Usually when one replaces bicycle tires, the major problem is getting the new tires on the rim, since they haven't stretched out yet. Not this time. I seriously must be the weakest person ever, because those #$*%& tubular tires took me a good hour to get off the rims, much to my dismay. In an ironic twist, the new tires I bought popped right on the rims. Huh.

Anywho, to add to my muscle strain, blistered thumbs, and scraped knuckles, I had to swap the pedals currently on the LeMond (which are mountain-bike type ones that I don't have compatible shoes for) for the Shimano SPDs on the Bianchi. Again, I must have incredibly flacid muscles, because I could not for the life of me get those pedals off. I eventually had to stand on the wrench to loosen the bolt.

On the bright side, I was finally able to ride my speedy bike to work, although I think I hit every single red light on Fairfax Blvd. Not to mention I need to bring the bike to a bike shop to get the handlebar stem replaced, since it is muuuuch too tall/long for my liking.
